DEIKER started its activity in the 1983/84 academic year as an institute of the university. Its main aim is to promote scientific research in the own areas of knowledge at the University of Deusto. From the beginning it has been part of the
RedOTRI network of Spanish Universities. DEIKER is under the Vice-Rectorship for Research at the University of Deusto.
